Stone, Brick, Concrete Pool Coping - Anthony & Sylvan Pools

Affording a Pool is Easier Than You Think!

Coping

If an in-ground swimming pool is constructed of concrete, it will need coping. The coping covers the exposed shoulder of the shell and brings the finished pool elevation up to the top of the proposed decking. Furthermore, it prevents water from getting behind the pool shell, proving to be a critical.

Besides being a necessity, coping can add a decorative touch to your pool or spa perimeter. In addition to being naturally beautiful, coping can keep your pool or spa cool to the touch and safe for individuals getting in or out of the water.

Types of Coping

Upon meeting with an Anthony & Sylvan Design Consultant, we walk you through the various types of coping and their individual benefits. Some of the many types you can choose from are:

Brick
Bullnose brick coping is cost effective and easy to maintain with a classic look. In addition to being an incredibly durable material, the beautiful clay color doesn’t fade and is easy to clean. Brick coping is particularly stylish and will provide a traditional textured edge to your pool. It can even be made into a unique work of art and is available in a variety of different colors from Havana red and pale gray to beige and dark brown.

Stone
Stone coping comes in a variety of different colors and textures and can withstand many different temperatures and environments. The natural stone surface makes it easy to clean while giving it a unique look and feel. Popular stone coping choices are limestone, travertine, flagstone and blue-stone. Stone coping tends to be more decorative in nature than other coping options, making them a popular choice among homeowners looking for texture matches to their homes.

Concrete
Cantilever concrete is another material used to cover the shoulder of the unfinished pool. Its ability to be poured and molded into just about any shape or design allows for extreme customization around the perimeter of your pool. Additionally, concrete is incredibly durable, easy to maintain, and the least expensive option when it comes to pool coping.
